proudly serving the sweetness of maine

Locally Sourced × Crafted with Love

Founded in the spring of 2019, Maine Maple Creemee Co. is proud to become the first purveyor of creemees in Maine, offering a local, more wholesome alternative to soft-serve, borrowing a page from the rich Vermont tradition.

While making a few trips a year to Vermont with her band, Sibylline, Hannah Daman always made it a point to get a Maple Creemee. It was during that time she started to ask herself why Maine, with a similar abundance of maple, didn’t share in Vermont’s founded tradition.

Some may argue a Creemee is no different than soft serve and is only the Vermont colloquialism for the dairy treat. But the Green Mountain Staters know both their maple and their dairy and real Creemees are often richer and more full of good cream flavor than the powdered excuse for soft serve most purveyors now use.

Armed with this knowledge, and a drive to start her own small business, Hannah began the adventure now called Maine Maple Creemee Co.

The base Creemee Mix comes from the family owned and operated Kingdom Creamery in Hardwick, VT. The dairy farm across the road has also been owned and operated by the Michaud family for three generations. Their recent expansion to a creamery has been a creative way to diversify and ensure their milk gets used in quality products.

The Maple I use comes from Saphound Maple in Brownfield, ME where I get to help out in the winter and early spring.

The last few years my dear friend and owner of XO Bakery has been making my gluten-free cones using local ingredients.

Flower bouquets and produce for the flavors are sourced either from my own backyard or from friends’ farms such as Goranson Farm in Dresden, ME Lost and Found Farm in Gray, ME, and Snell Family Farm and Rooted Heart Remedies in Buxton, ME.
